Dear Henry A. Roa,

Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you that Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago  has been awarded a Chicago’s Cultural Treasures grant of $140,000.00. The grant period is August 1, 2021 to July 30, 2024. 

 

This grant can be applied toward any organizational operating expenses. IFF will work with you to determine a payment schedule that best meets your organization’s needs.

As a participant in the Chicago’s Cultural Treasures Grant Program, Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago  will be expected to:

  • Engage with IFF and others in the identification and co-creation of supports relevant to your organization, including financial management and space planning
  • Define organizational goals for your participation in Chicago’s Cultural Treasures
  • Submit annual progress and impact reports 

Please acknowledge receipt of this email by replying. We will be sending out grant agreement letters via email within the next week.

Chicago’s Cultural Treasures will be making a public announcement about your award on our website and through our email list. We will not be pitching the press at this time, though we plan to share lessons learned about this community-based participatory grantmaking process at some time in the near future. You are in no way obligated to make any announcements about your award, or to respond to any reporter who may ask you a question, now or at any time in the future. You are welcome to speak publicly about your grant as much or as little as you wish, in accordance with your own strategic plans and on your own timeline.
